Recently I partnered with shoes to create the ‘Arrington Oxford’’. I am thrilled to share with you my first footwear collaboration.
These particles oxfords are a cap toe. The cap toe dress shoe should be an anchor in a gentlemen’s wardrobe as far as I’m concerned. If you invest a little money in a sturdy pair they could last you many years.
My good friend, Fraternity Brother and Mentor David Milledge gave me sound advice about a quality pair of dress shoes whilst I was in undergrad at Tuskegee University. He encouraged me to invest in a solid pair, keep them clean/shined and store them with cedar shoe trees. This hand made pair from I’s factory in Spain is that quality shoe my friend was guiding me toward all those years ago. Who knew I’d have a pair named after me!
Shoe care is important, especially when you want to keep them for a while. Between shines you should consider having a cobbler recondition the leather. The cedar shoe trees will help keep their form and absorb any moisture that can build up after a full day or evening of wear. A man’s shoes says a lot about him. You want to be the guy who’s shoe say “this guy means business”. Your shoes complete your look show your gratitude to them and keep ‘em tidy! Challenge yourself, after your next quality shoe purchase keep track of how long you can maintain them. As a form of encouragement...I still rotate oxfords from 2009!
I honestly think the cap toe can be paired with just about anything! Jeans, a tuxedo or a standard suit. You can wear these casually to a cocktail party, to a board meeting at the office or even the most formal of affairs, a black tie gala. I’ve curated three looks to coach you through each of these scenarios. Enjoy!
